SpinLord Waran III – High-Explosive Short Pips Rubber

The SpinLord Waran III is an explosive evolution in the legendary Waran short-pips series. Rather than a minor tweak, it represents a massive leap in speed and catapult effect thanks to its newly developed violet sponge (2023 release) – the exact same high-tech sponge featured in the flagship Ozelot Pro.

While the topsheet retains its proven, ultra-fast, and hard characteristic, the new sponge transforms the Waran III into one of the most dynamic short-pips rubbers on the market. Compared to the Waran III, the original Waran feels like a slow turtle.

Key Upgrades Over Waran I and Waran II:

• Balanced Sponge Hardness (44–46°): Harder than the original Waran, but slightly softer than Waran II.

• Superior Elasticity & Dynamic Catapult: Significantly faster, more elastic, and vastly higher catapult power.

• Enhanced Spin Potential: Thanks to the increased sponge elasticity, it generates more spin than its predecessors. Beyond ruthless hard smashes, executing soft opening loops and topspins is now noticeably easier.

Performance & Playing Style:

• Extreme Speed & Flat Trajectory: Produces a very low, flat, and penetrating ball trajectory that leaves opponents with virtually no time to react.

• Direct Offense (No Pseudo-Wobble): Unlike long pips, this rubber does not rely on bending pips or deceptive trajectories. The goal of Waran III is straightforward: win the point immediately with a decisive offensive shot.

• Forehand Weapon: An ideal choice for players using a slower/defensive blade with long pips on the backhand who need high offensive firepower on their forehand side.

• Optimized Weight: While heavier than the original Waran, it is substantially lighter than Waran II and Wyvern, making it easy to pair with heavier blades.

1. Porous Sponge Warning: The new high-performance sponge features a porous structure that can tear easily when removed from the blade. Repeated re-gluing or switching blades is strongly discouraged.

2. Thickness Choice: Because the topsheets across the Waran series are identical, the speed jump over older models is most dramatic in the 2.0 mm version and least pronounced (though still clearly noticeable) in 1.5 mm.
